Moab
Presenting the best girls-weekend: The Thelma and Louise Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and Marathon Relay. Bring your best girl friends to Moab, and experience the remoteness of Moab's Behind the Rocks area. See the towering red rock walls of Lone Rock, believed to have been used for religious ceremonies by the Ancestral Pueblo people; their ceremonies worshiped their "mother deity." Catch views of the maze of fins in the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Area and the stunning La Sal Mountains at this women's only event. A new challenging course has been designed, rugged and tough enough to be worthy of the name "Thelma and Louise."
What better way to make it the best girls trip than to book a room at the luxurious, American Western themed River Rock Inn. With fresh breakfast and lattes in the morning, and campfire stories at night, there’s no better place to stay. Book your room today.

Behind the Rocks Ultra starts and finishes at the Behind the Rocks Trail, along the border of the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. Moab's last hidden gem; its tall standing Navajo Sandstone domes and fins can be seen from many places along the course. This course traverses some remote trails and gives you the opportunity to enjoy the desert solitude. From smooth double track, to sandy washes, to technical doubletrack, to challenging singletrack, Behind the Rocks Ultra will test you mentally and physically. While the 30K can give a runner an introduction to Moab trail running, the 50 Mile course is among our most challenging events. It includes some technical down climbs and rim running that offer amazing views of arches and rock formations. The finish line is nestled just below the La Sal Mountain range. A great place to enjoy with a great community! Bring your cooler stocked with your favorite post race drinks and stay for the fun!
Visit the Mad Moose Events website for packet pickup information and other marathon details.
Reserve your room at River Rock Inn so you are well rested before the marathon, and you can rest your tired muscles after. Our pillow top mattresses, Egyptian Cotton bedding and hot showers will soothe even the tightest muscle. Enjoy a complimentary full breakfast each morning of your stay.
